Explore the Badlands on a private tour with experienced local guides, snacks, bottled water, and time for a meal break.

About this tour

Discover the Badlands with guides who know its stories, landscapes, and hidden details. This private Badlands tour is led by local experts with decades of experience, and your group travels on its own rather than sharing the outing with other guests.

The family-owned provider’s tours are conducted by family members, including Cindy, Christopher, and John. Along the way, enjoy light snacks, bottled water, and apple juice. The schedule includes time for a meal break, which you can arrange at your own expense; coolers are available for boxed lunches and picnics. Vehicles are SUVs, with a van available to rent for larger groups. Contact the provider if you have questions about vehicle arrangements.

Children are welcome, and the tour is described as suitable for all fitness levels. If you need wheelchair accommodation, note that vehicles have no lift and guests must be able to get in and out independently. Choose a private Badlands tour for an unhurried day shaped around your group and guided by people who know the region well.

How this score is calculated

This score is based on one provider. Viator rates it 5.00 from 30 reviews. We place that rating among all Viator ratings and weight it by its review count. If the tour is found on another provider later, both ratings are combined.

How the score works and rating distribution in Rapid City
  • Each provider rating is turned into a percentile: the share of that provider's ratings it beats, weighted by review counts.
  • Listings on different providers are combined in proportion to their review counts.
  • Tours with few reviews are pulled toward the average until more reviews come in, so a handful of perfect reviews can't top the list.
  • The result is shown from 0 to 10: this tour scores 8.3. Top 21% in Rapid City means it ranks in the top 21% of tours in Rapid City by this score.
